Cantabile Sacra
This series focuses on short, accessible organ scores that base their
creation upon selected scriptural lines or passages or other sacred texts. Each is intended for use during a liturgy in any manner and in any place that is appropriate and where they will add to the solemnity and general prayerfulness of the ritual. A “smaller organ” should prevail in the organist’s consideration of stops, a quiet atmosphere with soft flutes and strings the prevailing thought in this regard. Most of these pieces are presented in a demonstration recording in my organ audio galleries. I hope all who play and/or hear these short pieces will enjoy the experience. (May 2016)
